Waiter Rant

I just don't understand those who go out and ask for the temperature to be adjusted. I know it's not the biggest issue in the world but it's aggravating. I know the restaurant might seem on the cold side for those of you who are sitting down and not really moving around all too much but look around to those who are working. Whilst you're shivering a little they're often sweating. Be considerate. The best part is there's a real easy solution to being cold: bring a jacket. Even during the hottest of months. It's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Beginning

It starts. Just those two simple words take me back to the Lion King game for the SNES. It's weird what little things a person remembers.

Anyways, I've been thinking about starting this blog for quite some time, finally got all of the technical stuff put together, picked out a name, etc. and have been meandering over options on what to start off with. The obvious answer would be to start at the beginning and since I don't really want to type 20+ years of my life experiences and thoughts I'm going to start with the right now.

I just graduated from a local community college with my Associates in Arts. I was one of the older students and though there were times I could feel my age and wished that I had stuck to school when I was younger I'm also glad I waited. The few years I took off allowed me to screw around and get my partying out without having to worry about writing that paper, studying for that test, getting up to go to a morning class. It also focused me. Getting older and having to be responsible for rent and bills by serving has been quite the motivation for me to bust my ass in school. In the fall I go off to a university once again to major in Earth Science which, for anyone that has really known me, is completely out of left field. I'm excited and anxious.

So now I have a summer ahead of me. A summer of goals to be reached. I have quite the history of being a procrastinator as well as I'd say, unfortunately, a failure at making positive changes in my life. That's not to say that I haven't done well in some areas but if I'm being truthful I do have a history of having goals that I just never reach, or even get close to because I fall back into old habits.

That is part of the reason why I named this blog, Life in Progress. I will progress. This is my life and I only get one shot at it. I'm sticking to my guns this time.
